Legacy Matters Podcast 89: Jake Rudh of Transmission

DJ, New Wave champion and overall music man Jake Rudh joined us to chat music, mid-century modern design and his journey on the podcast. A Twin Cities institution, Jake is the long-running host of Transmission (Thursday nights on The Current along with a thriving DJ entertainment company) and host of his weekly live DJ show at the VFW in Uptown. We talk musical influences, his love for Chan Poling & Bryan Ferry, growing up on MTV and favorite music stories. Jake has garnered the music industry’s respect as one of the foremost experts in New Wave and 80s music, pairing with some of the genre’s pioneers during their Twin Cities visits (upcoming shows include The House of Love, Howard Jones, and The Suburbs). With a sophisticated and cool design sense, Jake is ensuring the love of punk, post-punk, new wave and 80s pop stays fresh - and relevant - for the next generation. A big thank you for keeping the memories alive Jake - you are a true Twin Cities gem!
